East Palo Alto Safe Routes in Peninsula Press

December 20, 2012 - 3:20pm -- colin

Thanks to Alexei Koseff of Peninsula Press for this excellent piece on efforts to get East Palo Alto youth walking and biking safely.

With funding from the California Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School Program, Ravenswood officials conducted a traffic study around each school in the district. Now, they are working with the city to address trouble spots where congestion and infrastructure make it dangerous to walk or bike to school. The district is also partnering with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition to reinforce the rules of the road for students.
