Our enthusiastic appreciation goes to our member Candice for organizing a women's ride along the Guadalupe River Trail earlier this month. Her wrap-up of the ride is below.
Fifty experienced cyclists and women who dusted off their bikes for the event found their way to Cesar Chavez Park in downtown San Jose to check in for the casual women's ride along the Guadalupe River. Weather was terrific. Conversations lively. And Alviso a treat.
It was a great day to be on the trail. We scared away some of the wildlife, but there was more than one egret sighting. The beavers were hiding or have moved on. The Guadalupe River Trail is now paved all the way from downtown San Jose to Alviso. No one was missing the gravel days.
Rivermark Plaza, a mile off the trail, was headquarters for lunch. Lots of options for those who didn't bring a lunch. And an opportunity to make another friend or two. The photos, almost without exception, show women smiling. That pretty much sums up the event. It was a smiling kind of day.
