San Mateo County cyclists - lend me your ears (and minds)!

September 16, 2011 - 10:24am -- colin

This is a call to action to all you engaged and engaging San Mateo County cyclists. SVBC is working with the San Mateo County Health System to expand the role that bicycle and pedestrian advisory committees (B/PACs) and similar such organizations play in planning in the municipalities of San Mateo County.

As is always the case, I think it would be a bad idea for SVBC staff to go it alone, especially when there are so many of you already involved in B/PACs and other forms of bicycle advocacy. I need your experience and insight to make this project a success!

Los Altos delays decision on BPAC status

January 12, 2011 - 5:16pm -- Carlos

The Los Altos City Council last night voted to delay any action on the future of the BPAC. This comes at a unique time in the city's transportation future. Since the city's footprint consists of predominately single-story, single-family residences on large lots surrounded by interstates, expressways, state highways, boulevards and arterials, auto congestion is becoming the norm rather than the exception.

Tonight the city of Los Altos in a special joint meeting will consider the fate of the city's bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee. The meeting is so special it will not be held in the council chambers but in the Neutra House (181 Hillview Avenue), a short walk away.
