Is it okay to post FREE, FOR SALE or WANTED items on this forum?

I have some wheels to give away, and I don't think I can make it to either of the bike exchange workdays this month.

Sorry for the delay on this reply - I don't think anyone's ever posed the question before. After some discussion, we'd like to discourage parts selling and swapping on this forum, and direct you either to our discussions email list or to craigslist. Thanks for asking, and sorry you couldn't make it to the Bicycle Exchange! If it's any easier for you to drop parts for donation off at SVBC offices in San José (1922 The Alameda, Ste 420), please come on by!

For those looking to donate parts, frames, etc., there is a program called "HOPE Services" in Santa Clara that employs people to build bikes, and they have a bike sale periodically (it's by the Gold's Gym near 101). I donated to them at the SVBC swap meet last year and discovered they also do a clothing pickup. Doing a little research, they seem to be a good local charity with high ratings from people like the BBB, unlike many of the clothing/donation pickup programs that promise to work for vets, starving Africans, etc. Wish I had their web site handy for you...
