The Second Annual SVBC Benefit was a smashing success. The setting, the speakers, the sense of a community coming together all made the night special.
Our speakers, Chris Horner and John Burke, were fascinating. Chris charmed us all with his tales of the ups and down of racing. John inspired the crowd with anecdotes of historical wisdom and a rousing call to action. When the two appeared together with Andy Ball, guests were treated to the perfect panel of cycling personalities - a hard working racer, a passionate sponsor, and a leading bike manufacturer and dedicated advocate. Questions ranging from advocacy, to racing, to personal cycling experiences were answered humorously and honestly.
Happily, SVBC reached its fundraising goal for the evening. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who bought tickets, sponsored tables, bid on auction items, and made donations. You can be confident that your support will be efficiently and effectively used to continue to promote cycling in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
