Caltrain has recently completed the bicycle capacity increase approved by the Caltrain Board in February. Now all five Bombardier train sets have two bike cars, and about half of the fifteen gallery train sets have two bike cars. To celebrate, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition will be gathering at the San Francisco Caltrain station on Wednesday, December 16, from 5:30 - 6:30, to celebrate the expansion and thank Caltrain. The SFBC has extended the invitation to Silicon Valley and Peninsula cyclists. There will be cookies!
Distinguished speakers will be on hand to recognize Caltrain for being a national leader in enabling the combination of bicycling and public transit. Stop by to show Caltrain your gratitude, meet some San Francisco cycling folks, and grab a tasty morsel on your way home from work.
Staffed bike parking is provided at the San Francisco Caltrain station free of charge by Warm Planet Bikes, a full-service bicycle shop that would not have been possible without Caltrain’s support - yet another reason to give thanks.
