Alviso trail loops

Hi,
I've Google mapped a route from Hedding and Park in SJ to Alviso along the Guadalupe Creek Trail(GCT). According to Google, I pick up the GCT just after Ruff Dr. and before I hit Rt. 87. This will take me all the way to the Alviso Marina.
Has anyone done this? It looks like a great ride, and I just want to confirm if that sounds right.
When I get to Alviso, I am thinking of either doing the 9 mile Alviso Loop or the shorter Mallard Loop. From what I have read, Mallard is shorter, but not as popular therefore it might be rough riding? I have 700 x 32cc tires, so I think I should be OK.
Has anyone done the Mallard loop v. Alviso loop? What are your thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Maryanne
