Hi Paul:
This is what I learned about the Highway 9 project from talking to the Regional Project Manager, Nick Saleh: The CLRS are going to be installed within the next couple of weeks. In order to address the concerns of bicyclists, shoulder improvements at selected locations along the section with the rumble strips are being considered. Their implementation will depend on funding availability as well as right-of-way and environmental considerations.
At this point, there is no commitment to implementing the improvements, because it is uncertain where the funding will come from. The district is currently looking into possible funding sources. We expect to know more within the next few weeks.
