Join the "Beat the Clock and Help Beat Cancer" team in its 2009 time trial series. This is the fourth year of the series. Improve your cycling skills, as you practice your time trial skills against the clock, in one of six fun, low-key events. A $25 registration fee enters you in the time trial with all the proceeds going to benefit cancer patients and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. There will be a raffle for a Leader time trial frame and a Leader Track frame. Raffle tickets are $5 and the drawing will be held at the end of the series. You need not be present to win. Tickets are available on bike reg (see below).
Love riding, but don’t want to ride the time trial? Volunteer are needed for all events. Help support your fellow riders and the fight against cancer by signing up to be a Course Marshall, Time keeper, Trafficator or help with Registration. Each time you volunteer a ticket with your name on it goes into the raffle. The first time trial in the series is scheduled for Saturday, February 28th on Canada Road in Woodside. Dr. Christine Thorburn, National Champion, World Champion Medalist and 2-time Olympian will be the starter, sending riders off inspired and motivated. The course starts on Canada Rd just south of the 280 underpass and goes out and back to Hwy 92. The first start will be at 7:30am with riders leaving at 1 minute intervals.
