This free 45-minute interactive lunchtime session presented by John Brazil, a nationally-certified League Cycling instructor and the San Jose Department of Transportation Bicycle and Pedestrian Program, is for those who would like to start using their bike for nearby shopping, commuting, getting some exercise, or just for fun.
Intended for adults who have already learned to ride a bike, the session will cover how to choose the right bike, find a route to ride, take a bike on transit, carry items on a bike, ride safely in traffic, follow the rules of the road, and other practical tips.
Advance registration for GET BACK ON YOUR BIKE! is required. To register, email, john.brazil@sanjoseca.gov. Include “Get Back on Your Bike” in subject line. The first 25 participants receive a free bike helmet and bike safety lights. Bike parking is available at bike racks are available outside the San Jose City Hall wing entrance at the southeast corner of Santa Clara and Fourth Streets. Car parking is available in the garage on Fourth Street south of Santa Clara Street.
