Roadshow: Bay Area transportation leaders practice what they preach

Jim Helmer, you get Roadshow's highest rating of four stars for your choice of commuting — taking the Highway 17 express bus as many as five days a week from Scotts Valley to your job as director of San Jose's Department of Transportation.

Will Kempton, Steve Heminger, Carl Guardino, and nine others — kudos! Four stars as well.

Roadshow contacted 42 transportation experts in Northern California, the ones who beg us to get out of our cars at least one day a week or drive in hybrids that emit mere traces of smog. Do they practice what they preach?
